6th APSPA International Conference Empowering Education and Mental Well-being

The 6th APSPA International Conference 2024, organized by the Asia Pacific School Psychology Association (APSPA), opened on November 28, 2024, at Assumption University of Thailand (AU)‘s Suvarnabhumi Campus. This prestigious three-day event unites educators, psychologists, and thought leaders across the Asia-Pacific region to discuss innovative education and mental health approaches.

The conference reflects AU‘s mission as an International Catholic University to guide learners and stakeholders toward wisdom, truth, and Christian values. With a focus on fostering positive mental health among children and youth, the event provides a multidisciplinary platform for addressing critical challenges in school psychology and education.

Opening Ceremony: Inspiring Leadership and Vision

The day began with an official opening ceremony followed by an Opening Speech by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., PhD, President of AU. Rev. Bro. Sirichai highlighted the importance of international collaboration in addressing mental health and education challenges.

“Assumption University of Thailand is committed to being a light that guides and inspires,” he said. “Through this conference, we reaffirm our dedication to fostering knowledge and compassion in service to society.”

Dr. Parvathy Varma of AU outlined the conference objectives, emphasizing its role in promoting transformative learning and fostering inclusive educational practices.
The morning session concluded with Prof. Panch Ramalingam, President of APSPA, who reflected on the organization’s growth since its founding in 2019. “This gathering demonstrates our shared mission to support the mental health and well-being of the next generation,” Prof. Ramalingam stated.
